A few weeks ago I attended the Toastmasters International Convention in Washington, D.C. mostly to hear the World Championship of Public Speaking but the most powerful message I heard was from Charles Starrett. He was not competing but rather sharing his memories from serving in the International Board of Directors for the past 2 years. I’ve been in the corporate world and never have I heard such heartfelt sincerity and encouragement come from a BOD briefing. Darren Tay became our 2016 World Champion of Public Speaking but Charlie, yours are the words I will remember most.

I would encourage you to invest 4:18 seconds in yourself and watch what I consider not only the best speech of the day, but the best speech of the Convention.  Thank you Charlie.
