To Adore and be Adored

I’ve begun a number or relationships in my life. Most have not worked out the way I had hoped but I have no regrets. A number have checked the boxes of the character qualities I am looking for but without the mutual chemistry and connection we are all looking for where we say,

“They’re the one!”

I choose to remember the best of times…not the worst. The missing element has always been mutual adoration. No relationship works without that foundational element. Trust me, I’ve learned that from experience. Adoration is only fully accepted when a person has already deemed themselves worthy of such. We have to do the all important inside work before we can offer our full, authentic self to another. Some women say they want to be put on a pedestal and be adored but once you place them there some become overwhelmed getting what they had hoped for but don’t believe they deserve.

Our true worth is found in God, not people. I’ve met a special person worthy of pursuit because she believes she has worth. Something of value to offer and I hope I have something to offer her. Not to complete but to compliment. All women are deserving of being put on a pedestal but for the first time I feel someone is reaching down to take my hand and pull me up to join her.

Thanks to DG for the inspiration.
